Here at Invasion, we are very proud of how we put on our events and we don’t want to be tarnished by how other organisations do what they do. So if you want to know how good our reputation is take a gander at these lovely people’s comments below from students, clubs, bars and coach companies
The Leeds invasion was the best night out so far this year! We had an awesome night dancing away with the reps, who were really fun and made sure we had a wicked and safe night! The event was really well organized, safe, and everyone had lots of banter! Can’t wait for the next invasion! The Invasion Team really care about the students and are trying to change the way people look at similar events. If every event was run as well as Invasion you wouldn’t see any problems like you do with other organisations. Bring on Invasion Travel! Thank you Invasion!”
Sarah Morton, President of Leeds University Sailing Society.
“Broad Street was the focus of a Student Invasion from Invasion Events. And what fun it was for all. Invasion Events clearly have got the system well mapped out. They break down the students into manageable groups which works so well. They clearly care about the students, which is at the heart of any of these kind of things. The students all had a real wow. Of course the students didn’t dress properly, with far too few clothes on for this time of year,… oh the joy of youth. I want more of these Invasion events down Broad Street. I can work with their management team and want to again. A BIG welcome awaits down Broad Street”
Mike Olley, Broad Street Manager.
“The Invasion Event held at GB (Gatecrasher) was a complete success. There were plenty of reps and managers on hand to deal with any issues that occurred, the students appeared to be cared for in a professional and mature manner and logistically the whole night ran like a dream. They also received very positive feedback from the Broad Street Manager. I would be more than willing to hold another Invasion Event @ GB or indeed in any of the Gatecrasher Venues I deal with in the UK”
Claire Sutton, Gatecrasher Clubs & Bars, Group Sales Manager.
“Invasion Travel are a pleasure to have, they are extremely well organised, take care of the students taking part in the event, pay for their reps and for a first aider and also inform the police many months in advance with detailed health and safety risk assessments. The upside to all of this is that the students have a great time, the bars and clubs make money, coach companies make money, take away food outlets make money and everyone is happy. They do things in the right way and it is only fair that the public realises this.”
Adam Meadmore, Walkabout.
“My name is Stephen Pinder. I am from Yates on Woodhouse Lane in leeds (nr Oceana). I saw some of the invasions which were awesome. The groups your company brought in were well organized, up for a laugh and well behaved. They were a pleasure to have in the building.”
Stephen Pinder, Yates.
“We were booked by ‘Invasion Travel’ to provide coaches for one of their events. I am normally cautious about hiring out coaches for night club jobs, but after I had spoken to Nick he came across as professional and quashed any of my initial concerns. Payment was received in good time with a detailed itinerary and the coaches came back in the condition that they went in and the drivers said that they had enjoyed driving the trip. We would be happy to work with Invasion Travel in the future.”
Dean Marshall, Marshall’s Coaches.
“West Midlands Police prides itself on Birmingham been one of the safest core Cities in Europe and as such we play host to a 40,000+ student community. Birmingham attracts a number of revellers to its two main entertainment districts of Southside and Broad Street. The night time economy can attract over 70,000 visitors to the city on a busy Saturday night. The safe management of so many people is the joint responsibility of many interested parties and working together the Police, Council and Businesses are able to ensure public safety. This joint approach has seen Violent Crime fall by over 25% last year helping to build trust and confidence across all our communities.
Birmingham promotes responsible drinking to ensure that visitors to the City enjoy a safe, sociable and sensible experience. The standards are set high and enforced by all.
This Autumn saw the Fresher’s period enjoy over 50 organised student visits to the entertainment districts. Some multi site evenings attracting as may as 7,500 students from the four universities. During these events there was a constructive dialog between the venues, organisers, student bodies and police. The effective and proportionate staffing of door supervisors, and police were supported by organisers pro actively stewarding the events promoting public safety and ensuring the events passed off peacefully and everyone enjoyed their night. Over the Fresher’s period there were only 3 recorded crimes attributable to student events. This is a staggering statistic that is testament to the passion and commitment shown by all.
One such evening hosted by Broad Street was the nationally publicised ‘Invasion’ event. The event was a great success although numbers were lower than expected owing to events in London. The organisers were positive and pro active in promoting of safety and responsible drinking. There were clearly identifiable professional stewards who ensured that revellers were seen safely from one venue to another. The students were well briefed and prepared with their event t-shirts and proof of age identification. The evening passed of peacefully with all students appearing to enjoy their visit to the City.
We look forward to working closely with promoters, student bodies, guilds and the SU to ensure everyone enjoys a safe, sociable and sensible visit to Birmingham”
